Morris W. Short, age 92, a humble hero went to glory, Thursday, May 18, 2017. Born in Lake City, Iowa and raised in Chicago, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was a veteran of WWII serving in the pacific theater. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1965. He was preceded in death by daughter, Katherine Short; sons, Michael and Charles Short; and parents, Leland and Vivian Short. Morris W. Short, age 92, a humble hero went to glory, Thursday, May 18, 2017. Born in Lake City, Iowa and raised in Chicago, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was a veteran of WWII serving in the pacific theater. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1965. He was preceded in death by daughter, Katherine Short; sons, Michael and Charles Short; and parents, Leland and Vivian Short. Survived by his wife of 32 years, Dona Short; children, Patrick Short and wife Jan, Ellen Quintana and husband Marshall, Vivian Short, and Larry J. Short; step children, Patricia Miller and husband Don, Linda Williams, R. Tyler West, and Daniel West and wife Amy; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Beth Shelton; and several nieces and nephews. He surrendered his life to Jesus and was baptized July 5, 2009 at the age 85. Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77060. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m., the same day in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will be at a later date at Houston National Cemetery.
